There is always something new

14 Months old.

Where has the time gone? Where is my baby? He has been replaced by a loud, crazy, walking, climbing, fit throwing, temper having, hug giving, kiss blowing little BOY.

1 year ago today Xave turned 2 months old. He also woke up with a fever and every time we would lay him down he would cry hysterically...and since he didn't cry much that was new for us. We waited until the weekend clinic opened and took him to the pediatricians office. I figured "oh just a bug no big deal" and they would have to tell us how much Tylenol to give him. BUT I was wrong. Because of his age they admitted him to the hospital!!! I remember sitting in the doctors office waiting for the nurse to take us to the hospital and I was so overwhelmed I couldn't do anything but cry.

Having to hold your tiny baby down while they start an IV, try to take blood and use a catheter to collect urine is never fun. I am just thankful they let us "wait and see" and he did not have to have a spinal tap. Ended up he had a virus, he broke out in a rash later that evening that seemed to confirm that and we were discharged the next afternoon. He was just so tiny and miserable while we were there. I also couldn't help but feel thankful that we were there for just a fever; I am sure there were other kids in the children's hospital there for much worse things.

I still am amazed at how quickly the last year has gone by.
