Xavier had his 12 month check up. He is 30 inches and 19 lbs and 12.6 ounces. In the last year he has gained 11 pounds and grown 8.5 inches! He had to get 4 shots. He was sobbing by the end. He finally made up with the nurse and smiled at her before she left the room. I will put birthday pictures up later.
Okay here are a ton of pictures from the last month.
Xavier loves playing in the window, he cries when one of us leave now. It makes Brent feel better that he cries after him too.
Birthday cake round #1 - needless to say I had to re-do the cake after it got dumped into the oven.
The Birthday boy yesterday with his new table and chairs. He still might have to grow into it a bit.
My sweet, sleepy, baby boy!
Most mornings Xave wakes up about 5 or 5:30 to nurse then we put him in his crib to play while we get ready. I thought he was being too quiet so I peeked in and found him asleep....rattle still in his hand. Every day this week he has fallen asleep again, must be getting ready to hit a growth spurt.
Jungle boy in his giraffe diaper! We get to use cloth at daycare.... I am so excited.
Brent ran his first 5K on August 15th. I am SO proud of him. Above is his before shot and below is the after. He finished in 41:16; which was 10 minutes faster than he predicted.
Furniture forts one of my favorite things I remember from being a kid. Xavier enjoyed it.
Monday we go for his 1 year check up. I can't wait to see how much he has grown. I will post party pictures this weekend.
I can't believe the last year has flown by so fast. I am amazed at how big Xavier is. Last night he ended up in bed with us and he seemed to take over the whole bed. He is such a happy, smiling guy. Always ready to play and giggle and lately clap his hands about everything. We are still working on the sippy cup. He started cows milk in place of 1 bottle of breast milk this week. I don't have any real birthday plans for him today. I was going to build his birthday present last night, but forgot. I guess we will do that this evening. Saturday is his party, We are having a cookout with all of the family.
First here is Xavier pushing his car around. He is very good at it now and so proud of himself. He will wave "bye" to us as he pushes the car around.
Saturday morning Xave was playing at the side table and he just let go and took 3 steps over to his car. It is amazing 2 weeks ago he was still afraid if we let go of his hand and he realized he was standing alone.
In the pool.
At the park. We had a picnic at the park a few weeks ago. Xavier liked the swings. We saw some ducks. It was a really nice day.
With his Godparents; Julie and Wes after his baptism
The day of his baptism in front of the house. We are really bad about taking pictures of all three of us. I think this is one of three we have.
Right now Xavier is sick. He has an ear infection and a fever. He seems happy most of the time. I feel so bad for him. Hopefully he feels better soon.
Xave is growing up so fast. He can stand on his own and is no longer afraid. He is cruising the furniture at warp speed now. There were a few things today I don't want to forget. This morning when I dropped him off at daycare he was wiggling trying to get out of my arms. I usually hold him while I put his bottles away and fill out his sheet so I can get in that last snuggle before I have to leave for the day. Today he wanted down so I sat him in the floor and he zipped on over to the push toy and stood up and took off pushing it across the room. He looked back at me with such a big grin, proud of himself. As if to say "oh look how big I am Mama" His two bottom teeth peeking out when he smiles. It is nice to know he is so happy and comfortable at the new daycare. The other thing I want to remember is the sound his hands and knees make when he crawls on the tile in the kitchen...slap.slap...slap.slap.
