Vacation adventures, pictures around the house and a hair cut

We have been busy over the past month. Xave's birthday party, then we went on vacation to Gattlinburg. Xave is walking so much now. He is much more stable. Yesterday he stood up on his own in the middle of the floor.....without help of furniture. He has 4 teeth now. We think he is talking. He knows "dada", "mama". When we play peek a boo sometimes he will say "boo" The other day we asked him "what is your name?" and it sounds like he says "dzay" He says the same thing every time we ask him, so maybe he knows his name.

Xavier making faces in the kitchen.

We took our first vacation with Xavier. This picture about sums up the car trip. We had a nice time even though Xave and Brent ended up with a stomach bug. The trip home took 2x longer than it should have.

Taking a break to play in the car on the way home.

Rocking in a chair at the cabin.

One day we drove up into the mountains....then realized we forgot to get gas so we ROLLED all the way to the gas station just outside the park...16 miles!

In the mountains.

Xave waiting for pancakes. This kid can put away amazing amounts of food at times. He ate an entire pancake nearly the size of the plate.

Xave learned to play pool :)

Ready for Football season!

Some videos of the wee man. Check out those dimples!

I cut all my hair off! 11 + inches.

Before

Birthday Party

The birthday cookout was fun. We had a good turn out and we were thrilled so many people traveled so far to celebrate Xavier's birthday.

Xave not loving the hat.

Mmmmm, Cake!

It was fun to watch him open presents. It was the first time he actually got excited about new toys. A few of them you could see his face change when he saw things he wanted to play with.

Something to remember # 2

So this morning as I dropped Xave off at daycare there was only 1 other boy in the room. He was pushing this toy around that looked like one of the poppers, but made tinkling chiming noises. His eyes got SO big and he was squirming around trying to get down to get to the toy. There was a second toy so he didn't have to steal the other kid's though I could see him contemplate it. He picked up the handle and was on his knees rolling it back and forth and looked SO proud of himself when he heard the sounds the toy was making. He didn't even wave bye to me he was too engrossed in the new toy.
